I got my first pair of Uggs about 22 years ago and I still wear them.  I was a Southern California surfer and we all wore them before their popularity exploded.

What other clothing item (especially footwear) will last for that long??  They're warm in winter and cool in summer, and VERY comfortable.  I now own a few pair and some of the Ugg knock-offs, but I will forever swear by the Ugg brand !!

Yes they are a bit costly but like many people have been saying in here -- shop around.

If you can find what you want Zappos is the best. I have 4 pairs and have bought 2 other for gifts.  Their sales are great.  Wait till March,  the boots get even cheaper. Watch out for ebay,  peope sell used boots as new DISGUSTING and you can not get your money back.

Which is better? 

Tall or short? 

I like the short because I wear my pants over the boots.  why spend the extra money for a few more inches of boot if your pants will be covering the boot?  If you are showing the entire boot, maybe the tall would be the way to go.  the tall boots cost $30-$50 more than the short.  so I guess it depends on how much money you are willing to spend and also whether or not you are wearing your pants over the boots.  I really think that boots look better with pants over them.  It looks kind of odd with the pants tucked into the boots.  It seems to me that only little girls can get away with tucking their pants into boots.  But I think it might look ok to wear a skirt with boots, as long as it's a casual skirt, that is.  

Also, I hope I don't insult anyone out there, but I see a lot of teenagers and 20 year olds wearing sweatpants with their uggs, and not only that, they tuck the sweatpants into the boot.  they honestly looks really bad with sweatpants.  and some of them wear really dumpy looking sweatpants too.  at least if your going to wear sweats with the boots, don't tuck them in, and wear a nice looking pair of fitted sweatpants!   

One more thing about tucking any pants, including jeans into any boots, people who do that tend to look shorter and heavier.  maybe that's why I think only little girls look cute with pants tucked into boots... again, the right skirt could work with the boots, and maybe even a pair of cropped pants that cover part of the boot, but don't tuck those pants into those boots!

Where to buy Uggs:  Uggs.com is the first place to look.  NO they do not have every single Ugg boot and shoe available on their own website.  They do run out of different styles, sizes and colors fast and they also don't always have styles that other stores sell.  They do not have ALL of the boot either, I've looked around a lot online and in stores.  I've also bought a few pairs of shoes and boots over the past few months and I've found that when Uggs.com has the boots/shoes you want it's the best place to buy them.  They have free shipping on orders over $125 and no tax.  It's probably a better way to go than a store that charges tax or a website that charges shipping, unless they don't have the shoe you want.  When I couldn't find the shoe I wanted, I hunted online and in stores until I found it.  but the price was the same as uggs.com so I was satisfied.  I don't think that you can find these shoes for a bargain.  you might be able to find them a little cheaper but no bargains. 

OK so where else to buy Uggs:  Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and a variety of other stores.  Sporting goods stores tend to sell them too.  Most of these stores have them in the store as well as online. You can also try a search on yahoo or google.  just type in uggs and you will get a list of websites that sell them.  As far as prices go, it seems that the boots tend to be pretty much standard prices everywhere.  The prices in most other stores and dot coms compares to the prices on Uggs.com.  And the high end stores do not charge anymore than uggs.com or other stores. sometimes there is a sale price in stores/online that is literally a few dollars less than uggs.com.  The most popular boots tend to be the same price everywhere you go.  But you might find Ugg shoes and less common boot styles on sale in a variety of stores/online.  Zappos is obviously more expensive than everywhere else that I've looked.  (but only by a few dollars, if you really badly want the shoe and zappos is the only place you can find them, then what's another 3 or 4 bucks on top of $100-$200?  

You can also get a list of stores that sell uggs from uggs.com.  just go to uggs.com and look around, you will find a list of stores that sell their shoes.  There is also an Uggs store in manhatten.  

PS  I don't understand why the blog from "girl from g" says that uggs are cheap, that doesn't make sense.  they are obviously expensive.  but they are a good quality and well worth the money if you need comfortable shoes!  my feet always hurt, and they feel so much better in my uggs!!  they are worth the money if you want the ultimate comfort!

I went on makemechic.com and the quality of boots are nothing like Uggs, you can tell by just looking at them. When paying $12.00 for a pair of boots you know that you arent getting quality. Plus, that site said that boots may or may not be in shoe boxes..whats that?. So you get what you pay for in my opinon.

I actually like this website, it might be a few dollars more but its overnight shipping and it saves time from driving all the way to the mall(gas is really expensive over here) and then going to stores finding it. Im actually looking for a pair of UGGS too, they are like sold out =[

I like ugg's, but not for the price! they are way to much money for a pair of boots. I bought my three daughters fake uggs at makemechic.com for more than half the price! I spent 60.00 on all THREE! You can get the same look-a-like for so much cheaper.

You pay MORE from retailers as they have to make a profit.  Also. This is a classic case of SUPPLY & DEMAND.  Go to Nordstrom.  They will tell you (at least in the North East) that they will have them in April 08.  They have nothing in stock at the moment.  Two of our local Nordstrom stores advised me to contact the Hawaii Nordstrom. 

Zappos has been around since the internet went mainstream.  This says something for the company.  By all means, if you receive terrible customer service, you have a right to be upset and complain but don't complain that their prices are more expensive.  If they have them in stock and you receive them in time for Christmas, this is well worth the extra few dollars to me.

Okay so you want Austrailia UGGS right,Well I know just the great stores to buy them.Saks Fifth Adventure is the best they have great prices on UGGS then Zappos that is awesome too but kinda higher prices.And if your a person who likes spending more many then you should by UGGS in Northernstream
